Active citizens fund Roadshow II in five cities across Greece

Active citizens fund Roadshow II visits Athens, Ioannina, Xanthi, Kalamata and Thessaloniki in the context of the new open calls “Increased citizen participation in civic activities” and “Increased support for Human Rights”.
Roadshow II aims at giving the opportunity to civil society organisations (CSOs) to learn about the programme and the new open calls, as well as train their representatives on how to plan and write successful applications for the Active citizens fund active calls.
During the Roadshow II, eight (8) capacity building workshops will take place in order to support CSOs, especially small CSOs from rural and remote areas, close to the cities where the workshops are planned.
The first capacity building workshop will take place in Athens, on January 16, 2020. Next stations are Ioannina, on January 23 and 24, Xanthi, on January 29 and 30, Kalamata, on February 01 and Thessaloniki, on February 11, 2020.
About the open calls
The call “Increased citizen participation in civic activities”, with available funding €1.000.000, aims to increase citizen participation in civic activities. The projects that will be selected will aim at increasing citizen participation in public debates and decision-making, promoting active citizenship and volunteering, as well as raising awareness and educating citizens about their rights and obligations and the proper use of media. The call “Increased support for Human Rights”, with available funding €2.494.600, aims to increase support on Human Rights. The projects that will be selected will aim at strengthening advocacy and raising awareness on human rights issues; monitoring human rights violations and supporting the victims; educating citizens, organisations and civil servants on human rights issues and strengthening collaboration of CSOs with Media in order to promote human rights.
