ANNOUNCEMENT 28 AUGUST 2024

Active Citizens Fund Greece at the 19th Lemesos International Documentary Festival

The series of short videos created by Active Citizens Fund Greece was successfully screened at the 19th Lemesos International Documentary Festival, which took place on 1-8 August 2024, at the Queen Eleanor Suite, at the Lanitis Carob Mills.

The series of videos highlights the contribution of the Active Citizens Fund in strengthening civil society in Greece. The stories captured in the videos focus on four critical areas:

  • access to healthcare,
  • acquisition of Greek citizenship,
  • defending the rights of the elderly and
  • access of Roma children to education

The videos highlight the personal stories of everyday people who have faced significant challenges and managed, with the support of the programme, to improve their lives. From claiming the right to healthcare and equal citizenship, to empowering older people and trying to get Roma children access to education, each video reveals the impact the programme can have on vulnerable groups.
