Launching the Active Citizens Fund in Greece

The Active Citizens Fund in Greece is supported through a € 12m grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway as part of the EEA Grants 2014 – 2021. The program aims to develop the sustainability and capacity of the civil society sector in Greece, and to strengthen its role in promoting and safeguarding democratic procedures, active citizenship and human rights. The Fund Operator for the Active Citizens Fund in Greece is Bodossaki Foundation in consortium with SolidarityNow.

The Fund Operator announces that the launch event of the Active Citizens Fund in Greece will take place in Athens on February 21, 2019. Two open calls will be announced, together with the launch of the programme, namely (a) vulnerable groups empowered and (b) strengthened civil society advocacy and watchdog role.

Capacity building workshops for CSOs in order to submit their application will be taking place in Athens on February 22 & 23, 2019.

A roadshow with informative and CSOs capacity building events will follow in four cities across Greece between February and March 2019.
