Greek Association of People Living with HIV “Positive Voice”
Positive Voice is the Association of People Living with HIV in Greece. The Association was created in 2009 and its goal is to defend the rights of people living with HIV, to deal with the spread of HIV/AIDS, as well as the restriction of its social and economic consequences in Greece. It has been awarded the European Citizen of the Year 2016 prize by the European Parliament.
The organization in realizing its set of goals, has designed interventions for almost all the vulnerable towards HIV populations, such as men who have sex with men (MSM), injecting drug users (IDUs) and sex workers. Furthermore, the Association is one of the few entities of non-profitable nature in the country which has been able to create relationships of trust with the above groups, thus becoming a channel of communication between the State and vulnerable populations.
