The Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine (ISPM) in Athens-Greece, was founded in 1989, as a scientific, non-profit organization. Since then, ISPM has been involved in more than 120 international and national projects, mainly in the area of public health, health promotion and education, quality of life, and health services research. The activities of the ISPM are coordinated by the Director of the Institute, Yannis Tountas, Professor of Social Medicine, Medical School, University of Athens, Greece.
