The Municipality of Athens, the largest municipality of Greece, invests in innovation supporting local communities to become drivers of change. Within this framework, it develops, co-funds and implements a series of EU and national programs that empower citizens and improve quality of life. For its work, the Municipality was awarded by the European Union as “2018 European Culture for Innovation”. It is active in numerous international cities’ networks and supports international initiatives for networking, best practices’ exchange, urban development, such as Eurocities, C40,Solidarity cities, Inclusive Growth Cities etc
