SPIN – Space Innovation
SPIN – Space Innovation is a non-profit organization focusing on the development and knowledge-sharing of space technologies, consisting mainly of university students. Their belief is that scientific knowledge about space should be accessible to young people.
SPIN is an effort of inspired young people with a shared vision of contributing to the development of the Space Sector. SPIN was founded in 2017 by Ilias Psyroukis and Ilias Theodoridis, students of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, who organized the first Greek space competition, CanSat in Greece. Since then, SPIN has being developing educational projects not only to enhance skills and broaden the knowledge of young people but also to research and develop new space-related technologies.
The mission of the organization is to enable students and researchers to engage in space technologies by involving them in the process of planning and implementing innovative programs in order to reinforce the Greek Space Ecosystem.
The vision of SPIN is to strengthen the culture of space exploration in the country, creating a core for space technology development by providing the needed knowledge, labs, and networking.
