The Press Project

The Press Project (TPP) is an independent media outlet that believes journalism responds not only to the citizen’s right to know, but to his/her right to a better world. TPPs journalism stands for the benefit of citizens, aims to be a watch dog and pinpoint solutions (solution journalism), always following journalistic ethics. Since its establishment in 2010, it has managed to create the first mass media in Greece solely financially based on its subscribers. At the end of 2015, ThePressProject introduced ‘Platform 1101’, which aims to create a community of citizens who propose issues that concern them and in this way “control”  their own media. Platform 1101 is a social network of members and at the same time a transparency system and a funding model. ThePressProject, as a media that receives no funding either from the state or multinational companies, is best suited for conducting investigative journalism, since it does not depend on a commercial department reporting to sponsors and / or advertising and promotional companies, as is the case with the vast majority of media, particularly those based on online visibility. TPP is accountable to its readers -subscribers, and it is precisely this transparency obligation that it implements within its operation which seeks to promote for policy measures applied in the country that affect the lives of its citizens.
