The project will contribute to inform the public and the country’s institutions about the fight against human trafficking in Greece and in particular it will focus on information activities and action for awakening and raising public awareness on human trafficking issues and more broadly human rights issues.

To tackle the problem of human trafficking, a TV and radio spot will be set up to promote the 1109 Human Trafficking Information Line, where viewers will be able to call anonymously 24 hours a day to be informed about human trafficking or to report a suspicious incident. The spots will be broadcast on all local and national television channels and radio stations. Utilizing material and images from the relevant TV spot, posters with information in Greek and English will be designed for the indications of trafficking and for the possibility of reporting a suspicious incident. It is also worth noting that for the calls that will be received within the 18 months of the project, a written report will be published on the incidents handled by the Information Line for Human Trafficking 1109.

Also, 6 awareness actions will be conducted for the general public in Athens, Thessaloniki, Alexandroupoli, Lesvos, Ioannina, Patra, Rhodes which will be conducted in the form of information events lasting 1.5 hours. The events will be accessible to all citizens regardless of their educational or socio-economic level. In addition, 8 educational seminars will be held in 8 cities (Athens, Thessaloniki, Patra, Alexandroupoli, Rhodes, Chania, Ioannina, Lesvos) lasting 4 hours for first-line professionals who come in contact with potential victims of trafficking.

After the completion of the project, both those who are directly involved and the general public will be sensitized and informed about human trafficking, while the actions will strengthen the combat of the problem. The project will be implemented by A21 while the cooperation with a partner was not considered necessary.
