The project is about gender discrimination, racist (physical / verbal) violence and the lack of visibility that exists in the daily lives of LGBTQI+ people. There is a great lack of information on these issues and the visibility of these people is limited, both in the general population of Greece and at the local level in the region of Xanthi. For these needs, the project will work on two axes:

  • The first will be the provision of information and interaction around LGBTQI+ issues
  • The second will be the enhancing visibility of the identities living in the region of Xanthi.

The actions are designed to use a mixture of art and speech, making them more interactive and accessible to a large audience. That is, film screenings, speeches and open discussions, exhibitions, audiovisual performances on relevant topics are included. The artists and speakers chosen to take part in the activities have a sensitivity to these issues, highlighting the means by their subject matter, belonging to the LGBTQI+ community themselves.

In addition, during the project, there will be campaign updates, either in print or electronically, for the public.

Upon completion of the project, 500 people will be informed in order to raise awareness about gender, identity and LGBTQI+ rights. Furthermore, there will be visibility enhancement and support for LGBTQI+ individuals. At the same time, supporting tools will be given to the participants of the project and to those who attend it, in order to develop their voluntary support and to create similar actions in the future.

The project will be implemented by Black Box in collaboration with the Quaesura team.
